Announcement

The Department of Electrical Engineering of the Aalto University School of Science and Technology and the European EMTP-ATP Users Group kindly invites you to attend the EEUG Meeting 2010.

The EEUG e.V. promotes scientific and technical research in the field of electromagnetic transients in electrical power systems and coordinates distribution of ATP, the non-commercial Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP) in Europe.

Venue

The two day meeting/conference which will be followed by a one day EEUG course will be held at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Aalto University School of Science and Technology, Helsinki, Finland from 16th to 18th August 2010. The meeting will take place at the Faculty of Electronics, Communications and Automation, Otakaari 5 A, Espoo, Finland.

Technical sessions are open to all licensed ATP users. Preliminary registration will also be accepted from interested persons who are not yet ATP users. Please contact Dr. Hassan Nouri (EEUG Chairman), University of the West of England, Bristol, UK (email: Hassan.Nouri@uwe.ac.uk) for information on how to apply for the ATP license and/or become an EEUG member. Information about ATP licensing conditions is available at the web sites http://www.emtp.org or http://www.eeug.org.

The Members' Meeting (EEUG members only) constitutes the second part of the Meeting on Tuesday. Non-members may observe this meeting as guests, without voting rights.

Call for Papers

Two types of contribution may be submitted for presentation at the technical sessions: full conference papers (20 minutes presentation) and short conference papers (10 minutes presentation).   More information in Announcement & Call for Papers -leaflet read also Author's Instruction 2010

Note for EEUG Members

EEUG members are invited to submit in writing any important suggestions related with the EEUG Association, to the chairman Dr Hassan Nouri, by e-mail to Hassan.Nouri@uwe.ac.uk before July 30th, 2010. According to the Charter these suggestions will be included in the Agenda of the Members' Meeting.

Social Events

Delegates are cordially invited to enjoy the welcome reception of Espoo City (see also www.visitespoo), which will take place on Sunday, August 15th, from 18h to 19h in Tapiola. The official dinner will be held on Monday, August 16th, 2010. We start with a short boat sightseeing from Otaniemi to Haukilahti where we will have our dinner in Restaurant HaukilahtiPavilion. http://www.haukilahdenpaviljonki.fi/

Accompanying person € 250,- € 300.-

Registration fee includes: conference proceedings, 4 refreshments, 2 lunches, welcome reception and the conference dinner. The fee for accompanying persons includes welcome reception, the Monday visit (lunch included), the conference dinner and the Tuesday lunch. The best papers submitted by students will be exempt from the Conference registration fee which will be paid by the EEUG.The Members' Meeting (EEUG members only) constitutes the second part of the Meeting on Tuesday. Non-members may observe this meeting as guests, without voting rights.

Registration

Early registration for the meeting is strongly recommended. Please fill in the registration form found on the webpage:

before July 15th, 2010. The registration form also includes short course sign up. Registrants will receive an email for their confirmation. For all correspondence regarding the EEUG you are kindly requested to use identification code "EEUG Conference 2010".

The registration desk will be open on August 15th (Sunday) at Tapiola Garden Hotel from 17h to 18h and August 16th (Monday) from 8:30 until 12:00 noon at the Faculty of Electronics, Communications and Automation, Otakaari 5 A, Otaniemi, Espoo Finland.

Cancellations

Written cancellations must be submitted in e-mail to LOC. If you enrol and cannot attend, a 20% service charge of the registration fee will be retained for cancellations received before May 10th, 2010. For cancellation in the period June. 10th, 2010 till July 10th, 2010 a service charge of 80% will be retained. No refunds will be possible after July 10th, 2010.

Insurance

The local Organizing Committee does not accept any liability or responsibility for death, illness or injury to persons or for the loss of, or damage to property or for any financial loss to any persons attending the Conference

Rates per night inclusive breakfast buffet (VAT 22%), service, room charge (VAT 8 %) and sauna in double room 129 € and in single room 109 €.
